Our initial check up appointment involves carrying out a comprehensive extra oral and an intra oral examination. Inside the mouth we examine both the teeth and the soft tissues looking for any abnormalities, including mouth cancer.

We also check your teeth for any abnormal wear and check the state of your gums including the support structure of your teeth (periodontal health).

In relation to the teeth, we provide you with oral hygiene advice along with appropriate dietary recommendations.

We have a diagnostic intra-oral camera and computer which allows our patient's to follow their dental treatment more clearly on a television screen. We feel patient's are much more relaxed when they understand the nature of their dental problem and the dental treatment proposed. Treatment at our practice is never hurried. We carry out all treatment to a very high standard.

We use modern equipment and the Dentist routinely uses Special Magnification lenses with enhanced Fibre Optic Illumination in order to see the patient's mouth more clearly. This undoubtedly helps to deliver superior quality dentistry.

Sterilisation procedures are strict using an autoclave and we follow British Dental Association recommended guidelines with regard to sterilisation of instruments, cross infection control and use of disposable items such as suction tips, patient bibs, instrument trays, plastic cups, etc,.

We operate a recall system to remind you when your next visit is due.

We also use a very good dental Laboratory which consistently produces very good quality work.

After examination, the nature of the dental treatment proposed, along with the various options, is always explained to our patients in simple terms and all queries are answered happily. Dental treatment at this practice is never hurried and nervous patients are treated sympathetically.

We have recently introduced a state of the art flat digital LCD screen, mounted on the ceiling over the patient's chair. Now our patient's can watch a relaxing DVD of their choice whilst they have their dental treatment.
